Seniors Celebrate winning the league
Thursday 17th October 2024
The Seniors section were presented with the NSMGL League trophy at a special presentation evening at the club on Wednesday 16th Oct. This was the third year in succession that Stocksfield have won the League and there to present the trophy was Graham Scott (League Chairman) and Peter Denham (League Secretary).

Seniors win League for 3rd year running.

Congratulations to Stocksfield Seniors on winning the NSMGL league for the 3rd year running. In a very close finish everything depended on the final match between Backworth and Hexham at Backworth which Hexham won 8-4 which meant Stocksfield won the league by 2 points.

Stocksfield Seniors finished joint 2nd on 42 points each and win the team event at the NSMGL's 50th Anniversary Celebration Day.

Stocksfield Seniors won their last match against Gosforth 8-4 to go 5 points clear at the top of the league and now have to wait until Sept 5th when favourites Backworth play their final match.

The rain has been relentless during December and the course has been extremely wet and dangerous, resulting in the front 9 being closed on a regular basis. However the recent winds are drying the course and limited use of the front 9 is now possible.
